Room for relaxation

The dining room can seat about 100 guests for dinner parties or buffet. This is where we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner to all our guests. The dining room is open for dinner every day and we serve different courses composed of the seasons local ingredients. Every summer we welcome you to our lunch buffet and before Christmas the chefs make a large and unforgettable Norwegian “julebord”.
On the second floor you`ll find a living room with a large fireplace, called Peisestugu. Together with the old interior it will make a cosy atmosphere for the party of many, or just for yourself. The library has a lot of books that the Garmo family has collected over the years, and you can also see pictures and portraits of the earlier generations hanging on the wall, watching that everything is in order. It`s possible to book the library for small intimate dinners 2-8 persons. Both “Peisestugu” and the library is open for all our guests to relax, enjoy a glass of wine in front of the fireplace or maybe read in one of the old books.
Dr. Garmos
Named after Sveins father, Dr. Torgeir Garmo, the bar in the basement was fully renovated in 2004. The bar is situated in the middle of the room, and the interior is new and exciting with small pieces of rocks from the Stone Center. Enjoy a drink in the bar after dinner and maybe there`s a live band there that will make your feet move. Click here to see what`s up in the bar.
Gaukstadstugu
In the Gaukstadstugu we host weddings, baptisms and small gatherings. Gaukstadstugu is the pride of Fossheim and one of the nation`s best preserved log buildings, dating back to the 17th century.
Urtehagen
The herbal garden is open when the weather allows it. Here we serve small dishes all day, from 12.00 to 22.00, in july and august. It is situated outside the dining room facing the center of Lom and is built in several levels, with sitting groups arranged in this charming setting to offer excellent views.
Around the sitting groups there are a wide range of plants, as well as a small stream. Some of the herbs and plants are used in the kitchen and may very well end up at your plate at dinner.
